MERC SPRINTER 308 D 2004 MODEL?

Hi Guys
My sprinter interminttently will not go into auto.
I have filled auto gear box OIL and had Merc mechanics check it out but they cant seem to fix it. When i drive it using the gears it will not then go beyond 95 klms per hour - but when in auto no problems to 140 +
Please help
