I have a jammed shuttle on my Elna TX?

The shuttle on my Elna TX jammed with a piece of cotton, and I just couldn't remove it. I prodded it with the cleaning brush for a long time, and then a small piece of metal detached itself from the shuttle and dropped to the bottom of the machine under the needle area. I managed to fish it out, with the aid of tweezers, and have put it back, but the shuttle isn't working, and I don't know if anything has broken, or if I have put it back wrongly. It is a curved piece of metal, which has a small rectangular hole in the middle of it, into which a small pin fits from the neighbouring piece of metal, slightly larger. This larger piece is fixed in place, whereas the bit that has caused all the trouble is held in place by the pin, and is otherwise not fixed at either end. My machine is over 20 years old, and this is the first time ever that I have had trouble like this. Can anyone help , and tell me where this bit of metal goes, and how to get the shuttle working again . Thank you.

Hello Valerie,
It sounds like you need a shop repair in this instance.
