SANDISK no longer making smartmedia. What about my warranty?

I have a Sandisk 128mb smartmedia card I purchased 14 months ago. It supposely has a five year warranty. However, when I called today for service on my card, I was told that Sandisk no longer makes this product and I'm out of luck. How does that happen? A Company offers a five year warranty and then discontinues making the item so there is no possible way to get the card fixed nor are they offering to pay for the card. They could not suggest a replacement item that will work with my Lecia camera. The card has a manufacturers defect that makes it difficult to remove from the camera. Thanks for any advice.

My digital camera (Fuji) also uses Smart Media. I recently ran across Smart Media still available in a retail store (can't remember which) even though it's no longer manufactured. My best suggestion is go to Google and type in Smart.Media (connected by a dot) and you'll probably find several sources of supply.
