Potterton Profile 80e only works on 0 zero boiler temp control?

The above boiler only works when the boiler control is set to zero. Even then every hour or so the boiler cuts out and it needs resetting. can anyone help

seems to be boiler thermostat faulty so boiler overheats and overheat stat takes over.
