You Shouldn't need to. Windows will do a better job at allocating Virtual memory than you can. Why do you want to?

Hi, I dont know much, but since Ive changed to Linux, it is so much better, but please don't tell my husband, as he has this thing about microsoft, he apparantly quite high up with it.

Ah - that is a common microsoft issue. Check for spyware and trojans. You can adjust the memory manually, by clicking on the balloon.
Note this is only a short term solution. If you want to be virus and error free, use linux (either ubuntu or suse).
