Vtech 2625?

The base unit generates static, and the voice breaks up. Both handsets seem to be OK.
Burt, December 2005
That worked for me -- I replaced those two capacitors and the base station is as good as new!

John, November 2007
I disassembled the base unit and found two electrolytic capacitors that had failed (leaking on both ends). I suspect this is the cause. Both caps are 6.3v 1000uF (-40-85 C, radial lead). I am going to replace them and see if it resolves the problem. Part number 272-1032 at Radio Shack ($1.59)

I have this problem with my 2625, also. It was working fine and then this static problem developed around December 05. Another phone on the same outlet works fine, and my other 2.8GHz cordless phone pair (analog) work fine.
