Chances are that the door lid switch is not operating correctly,if at all. It could either be a bad switch or not connected. If you were to open the load door the switch is visible. There should be a tab on the door which depresses the switch. If this tab is missing that could be the problem. If present check on the wiring to ensure all connections are secure. If they're all good the switch is, most likely, at fault. It's a relatively simple repair and the parts are not terribly expensive.
