How can i fix my Goodmans 42" plasma GTV42P6?

It has no sound or picture. When turned on at the back it makes the click sound it normally does and i think the screen goes to a slightly lighter shade of black. But the standby LED doesn't come on, with no sound or picture, can anyone please help?

sounds like the 5v standby supply common fault with the goodmans if you are electrically minded and know how to solder its an easy repair or you could take it to a repair shop i would fix this for around £40 but i am not a shop if you remove the rear cover you will see a large curcuit board in the middle of the set just to the right there is a sub power supply at the top of this board there is a small microchip (looks like there is a leg missing) this is the offending artical and for good measure oi would change the large capacitor and the small capacitor which are near the chip sorry i do not know of hand the chip type or capacitor values (if the top has blown off the chip i may be able to find out the chip no for you hope this helps and fixes your problem
