How to fix Whirlpool Washer LXR9245E agitator that agitates at slow mode?

The top part ot the agitator does not seem to agitate as it should. Appears if it is slipping, not allowing the clothes to be fully agitate. I do not have the owners manual, it is an older Whirlpool Washer top load, Model LXR9245EQ0.
