How can I fix my DVD Player?

I have a Bush DVD Combo machine and when I play any DVD's on it, it starts to play but is very jumpy, and stops and starts the whole way through.

Its not the DVD's because Ive tested them on other machines and they work fine. I'm thinking its some kind of conflict such as the surround sound or something.

Please help!

Barry:
I have seen similar problems on DVD players that did not fully support DVD+R/+RW disk formats. Most new disk writers support DVD+ standards and even both the "+" and "-" standards. The players may not be so flexible (lower cost often implies limited function). As I understand, most DVD players support the older DVD- format while DVD+ formats may cause various issues. The problem I witnessed in 2004 was such a case on a brand new unit. Playback of DVD- media worked fine while playback of DVD+ media caused skips and buffering delays during playback. DVD+ has been around for several years, but not all DVD players fully support it.

All said, you may or may not have anything to fix. Check the media type and use disks with the compatible format. Check the Bush product documentation or support site to verify which media type is supported.
