These are tight as they need to stay on for obvious reasons!! To save your fingers from bruising try to find something that fits snugly onto the washer - say a small diameter metal tube or even better a socket from a socket set if you have one - hold the washer and the tube square with the axle then give it a firm tap with a hammer and it should go on.Faling that take it to your local garage and they might do it for nothing if they`re in a good mood!!
