How can I change a cartridge?

How do I get the ink carriage to move and stay in the position I need for changing the cartridge?

It depends on the printer an you don't say what you have.

If it doesn't move into the desired position when you open it up just gently pull the cartridge carriage along until you can get the old one out and new one in.
