I have a panasonic tx 28dk1. Over a few months I would be watching the tv and it would turn itself to stand by for no reason. The cat got blamed for standing on the remote a couple of times until it happeded when the remote was sitting on the fire place! It started happening more often, I'd turn tv on and it would go straight to stand by, turn it on again and it would be fine. Evemtually one day I turned the TV on and it went straight to stand by - did this about 4 or 5 times, until gave it up as a bad job and got the portable out! Gave it a week and tried again and it still happens. Now it won't come out of standby.
