How do I repair or restore a resin spool table?

I have a spool table from the 70's with inlaid shells and sea oats. The typical rope around the edges as well.

The table top had dulled over the years but now since being in a colder climate outside on the patio, the top had now cracked all the way thru to the table top.

Is there a way to restore the dullness and fill in the cracks or should the entire top be removed first...though that seems to be the drastic answer, not to mention tedious.

Resin on the top of the base has also cracked with chunks fallen off. The table itself is still in excellent condition, structural wise.

Has anyone tackled this job before? I see another person with a similiar question out here. Any tips would be welcomed!

Thanks!
