HardDrive wont defrag, DiskMagik says its faulty?

How can I fix my hard drive so it will defrag, I've already tried chkdsk/f and it didn't help at all. I've thought about reformatting my hard drive to maybe fix this problem, would it help?

Try Spinrite software , its about £40 It uses BIOS to run (not windows)it scrubs the disc looking for errors, it converts all 1's to 0, and visa versa and it actually removes all data and formats then replaces all data Exept corrupt or damaged data, it really works however I used this on a 250 gig hard drive and it took 3 and half days. but it found errors and removed them without losing data. I-T tech's use it in companys where they cant afford to lose data.
