This is a common fault, but easy to cure. Before going any further you must have the 4 digit keycode that was supplied with the car.The unit just needs reseting. To do this all you have to do is disconnect the power to the unit for about 10secs & the reconect the power. The simplest way is to disconnect the negative lead on the main car battery. This will reset any settings stored on some accessories like the cruise control, but you can reset these. When the power is connected back to the cd unit ,you will need to enter the 4 digit code otherwise the unit will allow you to eject/load discs, but thre will be no sound! For obvious security reasons i wont go into detail on how to enter the code, but if you have the cars hand book it shows you the procedure in there. If not a visit to your local Ford dealer will help.I had this problem with my cd,this method worked fine......Good luck.....Gordon
