We have a Kenmore Heavy Duty Washer Series 70 Model 110.20722 990. My wife tried to wash a heavy down feather comforter and it would not spin, but there is noise as if the motor is running but not catching the basket gear?

Very exspensive part sure blame the wife!!! HA HA No just kidding very cheap part actually. Happens all the time. underneath the aggitator is a plastic coupler with plastic teeth and their probably all chewed up!! the part should be under $10 and any handy man can do it himself. two types of aggitators one you'll have to remove the fabric softener cup at the top of the aggit.. and remove the bolt 7/16 or 1/2 inch socket should be the size..remove the aggitator and you'll see the bad part.. round and should have some stripped teeth take off nessesary bolt on coupler and thats what needs to be replaced.......the second type is a simpler aggitator if no softener cup the aggitator with a GOOD TUG should pull right off the coupler that needs to be replaced.. GOOD LUCK
