My scenic only has a radio and I want to replace it with a cd player, do I have to buy a renault cd player or will anyone be ok, also will the hand controls work on the steering wheel and is it just a case of taking out the radio and conecting the cd player or will I need different cabels??

i bought a renault cd player from ebay and it plugged straight in.I would check the back of your radio is the same as the new one.If your going to put a non renault cd player in you will need to buy an ISO harness just a few quid but you wont be able to operate it with your controls.You will need a seperate lead for this which is a bit expensive and a pain to fit.My advice is go on Ebay and buy one plug and play but make sure you get the code for it.
