My picture has gone off on my Hitachi 37LD8D2OU-T, i still have volume, can anyone help?

Same thing happened to us this morning with our Venturer LCD TV/DVD.

Some people say unplug it for a few hours, so I unplugged ours and will try again tomorrow (fingers crossed).
