Have a kenwwood cassette deck with high pitched hum on record?

I have a Kenwood RX-W6050 cassette tape deck that has a high pitched hum on record. Even if there is nothing connected to the input the hum still exist. The higher the record volume control, the louder the hum. Any idea as to what the problem is? peturisrd@yahoo.com
