Noise?

I have a lovely Dimplex Logalike reallooking fire however, it is spoilt by a racket when it is switched on. I use it mainly for appearances but the underneath heater has come in handy for emrgencies on occasion.

How can I stop it from making a racket? I think it is something to do with the fan that makes the flames look real.

The noise eminates from the small motor/fan which works the flame effect. Even when new they can be noisy because they are usually screwed directly onto the metal fire chassis with no noise insulating mountings.

Replacing the motor/fan may help but there's no guarantee.
