How can i retrieve my files from harddrive?

I would like to move all my files from my old 20gb harddrive to my 250gb hardrive, however, on the 20gb harddrive its says after booting, GRUB and the drive is known as boot X.
I think i may have installed linux xp freespirit. Is there a way of getting files of?

Can you set the drive as a secondary, and boot from the larger 250GB? That is your easiest way. If not, then you can boot Puppy Linux, and access the drive that way. You can download from this link: http://www.puppylinux.com/download/
