First off, unplug unit from the wall. Drop the handle to lowest level. remove two black screws from top of upper plate, they will be close to right and left edges , just above the brush roll, the upper cover will lift off from the brush roller, and snap off near the motor cover, the old belt will visible and the new belt gets stretched into place.
