Ariston fridge freezer not working?

Hi,
My fridge freeezer is faulty. The freezer is cold, all ok, no problem , but fridge won't reach cool temp. All lights are on, and the thing makes noise. I had a chap in today who said the gas is not getting to the fridge. Please can you let me know, should I ok them to fix it, or is this v expensive and so, terminal...

HI, I have the same problem with my Ariston Fridge Freezer which I've had for seven years... Freezer works fine - fridge is always warm. I have to defrost the freezer once a week in order to the fridge to function it's now getting on my nerves as my food is always destroyed. Engineer will be visiting on 21/07/2010

thanks for defrost advice-
I did however defrost the freezer a couple of days ago- I didn't leave it off all day, but long enough (6 hours ish) that ALL visible ice in freezer had gone. Do you think a whole day turning it off would defrost ice i can not see, ie. is that ice somewhere non-visible?

sounds as though the fan in the freezer is blocked with ice, try switching off for a day or so and allow to defrost
