when you buy a digital camera, it should come with a usb lead and a cd software disc, to upload pictures first install the cd software to computer, follow instructions on computer, then connect the usb lead to camera and computer turn on camera, the photos should show on the computer screen, if you have a cd burner always save your photos to cd that way you have always got them, then you can wipe your camera card clean and use it again to take more pictures, you can also save your pictures on the computer in the file my pictures

I am new at this and have found two ways to do it - I don't have the correct terminology in all cases. I assume you mean upload pictures from digital camera to computer.

First I bought a memory card reader - a passive little box with slots in it for different memory cards and a USB lead which I plug into the computer having first inserted the memory card from the camera. The card reader box was about £15.

Well I didn't need to buy it really because the camera (sony) came with a fancy cable that plugs into the camera itself at one end and on the other end is a USB connector together with two other flying leads that I don't use. When I turn the camera on the computer recognises it and asks me questions. Easy really...

Good luck...
