my toliet won't flush no matter how much you pull the handle ?

OUr toilet fills ok but does not flush we replaced a loose handle and that helped for a while and now it is not flushing again If i pull the sliver metal rod that attaches the unit to the handle it makes no difference to the toilet flushing.

Agree with jason. Remove the U like metal from the handle.
If you are lucky and there enough space you could remove the perforated disc out. Check this site for details http://www.practicaldiy.com/plumbing/cistern_syphon/cisterns_syphon.php

You dont have buy a diaphragm. Take out the original which may be torn or damaged. Get a peice of any thick plasitc sheet viz transparecny will be ok or any departmental store plastic bag. Cut out the excat shape of the damaged diaphragm. Place it back on the perforated disk.

Only precaution you must take is e that you must fix back all the components exactly as they were. So take note of that.

Good luck.
