Can I fix a Miele G562 electromechanical timer /controller?

The G562 (touchpad electromechanical timer) unit completed a wash cycle and has not started since. Power supply on the controller board seemed swollen.
Replaced controller board with spare and replaced touchpad responds now with correct cycle number but still no imer action.
Electromechanical timer does not index at all as power does not seem to get to its drive motor. Feed seems interrupted by large resistor? with 'heat sensor? or fuse' shrunk on which remains open circuit. I have a spare timer assemply but it seems to have worn disk and requires pressure to activate microswitches (Actuating fingers worn down maybe?).

Alternately I have a G540 with siezing wash motor - Seems G562 wash motor would fit but wiring is different to G540? Any circuit guidelines would help there. One of the three going would get me in out of the doghouse for now.
