error code c3?

My aeg lavamat 86741 update is showing error code c3, the pump sounds like it is running even when the machine is set at off, although this does at least turn off the alarm...any ideas on how to fix it?

has it got water in the base?.remove back panel and see if water is in the base.look for possible leaks if water is found in the base
