We have a 9 year old WJS1397w which when drying leaves the washing hot but still wet!
I believe that this is due to a blocked condensor, question is, how do i get to it? the machine is in one piece, made from a single sheet of steel!

Whilst waiting for an answer to my question above, i pulled the machine out had a closer look, so if anyone else needs to know, here goes.....
disconnect the mains & water feeds, remove top cover (2 x 8mm screws under rear top lip & slide top cover backwards), undo rearmost 2 x 8mm screws on top edge both sides, unclip & swing out of the way the white plastic filler around the water inlets, remove the 8mm screw in the top left hand of the back (but leave the black rubber washer in place), on ether side at the bottom are 2 x plastic plugs, remove these & the 2 x 8mm screws underneath, remove the 2 x 8mm screws on the back in the bottom corners. the back half of the machine should now pull off. With the back off & looking from behind the condensor is on the left below the fan. To remove, unclip the clear plastic pipe that runs from the rear of the detergent draw to the condensor, being carefull not to damage it (it is clipped down in 4 places, start at the drawer end & work towards the condensor, the last clip is released by swinging the pipe away from the machine & lifting off the condensor. Remove the 2 x screws holding the fan housing in place (this is also held in place by a hooked shaped molding on the motor side which means the whole fan assembly has to be pushed towards the center of the machine & pulled backwards to release) There are 2 pipes conected to the bottom of the condensor, one a large rubber hose with a screw type compresion band (undo with a phillips screwdriver) & one with a spring clip (release with a pair of pliers), Lift the fan housing up slightly & you can pull the condensor out of it's holes in the base & pull it off the bottom of the fan! Take you condensor outside & use a hose pipe to blast the debris out of it.

Reassembly is reverse, the only real thing to watch is that the rubber ring where the fan meets the heater is back in place properly, a tip is to fold it back over it self (in half) on the outlet from the fan, then when the fan is mounted again, just pop it back out flat!

lid off.back half splits down the centre.4 screws under lid,2 screw across bottom at the back,2 screws under plastic caps in the centre bottom of side panel.now remove rear half and the condensor tank is on the right as you look from the front.remove tank and wash it out with a hose.refit in reverse
