try formatting it first if it wont then try this
if it is a flash drive and you can solder very small tracks then open it up and try and find the fuse
it is a small black or green component with 1x1 or 5x5 on it
solder a very fine filament of some wire to both ends and it may work again or if it is in guarantee then take it back to the shop for another one
if it is out of guarantee then try what i said
not much to lose either way
if it still wont work then chuck it
