Indesit WIE 147 Fails to start any wash cycle ?

Indesit WIE147 shows error f12 I have checked the connections between the two pcb`s but no joy . What we did notice was the washing machine was connected to the hot instead of cold and the hot was very hot due to a faulty immersion heater can this have caused the problem
