My Bosch exxcel 1600 express washing machine is showing f04 and will not drain or spin. I have looked on the web and have been told it is a blocked filter, but how do I access this?

The repair man took the front panel including door off.Which means removing the rubber seal held in place with a round wire that tightens up, to access the filter tube (RHS like a hoover tube), clamped it higher up & removed the stuff. But I guess unless you know what you're doing, maybe the front panel might be a bit tricky. Good luck anyway. It cost me £40, which i didn't think was too bad.

Take off the bottom right service flap, there will be a hose that you can pull out & drain water from. However I just tried this and ther's no water coming from the hose. So then I unscrewed the circular pump cap & water started pouring out - not a problem if you can find a shallow enough tray, but I can't, and I can't shift the machine outside (i'm e feeble bird!). So waiting for repair man. I'll let you know what he does when he's finished!
