I am having trouble with the cd player, both on my computer AND my c-d player. I can tell that they just won't spin. The c-d player gets going, and then runs out of momentum to spin, and computer won't even start to spin them.

any suggestions on which part needs replacing or how I can fix it myself, would be appreciated

the most common cause of a cd not spinning up is a dirty lens and the best thing to do is to clean them by hand. if the laser cannot focus it will not spin
