That is one of the most difficult lamps to have to rewire. Getting the wire past the three juctions is one big pain in the butt. It takes a lot of time and effort. Most of the time the power cord goes from the base to the socket. You will probably have to use 18/2 Spt-1 wire. The coating on this wire is a little thinner and is the easiest to try and get past those bends and turns. Unless this is a real good quality lamp or one you really are fond of, I would go get another... Good Luck
