Fixing D/Glazing windows?

When repairing misted double glazed windows can the repairers not use the same glass, thereby making it a lot cheaper for the customer?
A. Boston, March 2009
yes they can use the same glass but this is more expensive.
they buy new glass sheets for say £2 per sq mtre. it takes them minutes to cut new glass to make units.
if they have to split old units, scrape all old bitumen sealant off, thoroughly clean old glass, then make new unit then this takes much longer, hence more man hours and more expensive. i only have units split if the glass is no longer made or a specialist glass.
how much are you being charged?
and go to a glass manufacturer and not a window company they bang their % on
