PC Keeps 'Freezing'?

My PC will often run OK all day; at other times it freezes ; just stops working; also, often continually during, or shortly after, 'booting'. I have checked all the boards and connectors for tightness, and the PS and CPU cooling fans both work. I am 88, and do not have a lot of 'know-how' regarding PC's, but can carry out most instructions and can use a multimeter.Robert

Hi

Might be you just need a system restore (wipe everything off and start again) this amy be the easiest option. Make sure you save any data etc beforehand as this will take the PC back to factory settings.

You need to determine first if its a software or hardware problem. A system restore in general will rule out software problems in most cases.
