briggs and stratton 4hp engine old?

i have a barOmix b&s cement mixer. its at least 20 years old and very rusted. i have just started to fix it all up as a little hobby. however the model stamp has faded too much and i can't work out how to identify the engine. any help much appreciated thanks

P.S.
If you type in those serial numbers + Briggs & Stratton to Google you will get a parts catalogue with fabulous drawigs and identification of bits. If you dont get a spark at all, you might try fitting their magnetron retrofit electronic spark kit.
Meanwhile could you please look and tell me which way round the small pulley on the belt drive is. ie does the bush with the allen screw face away from the engine of towards it, and which way round is the head of the shaft key on this??
I have just got mine working but forgot this last detail

Thanks,

Hi,
Your Baromix cement mixer has a B+S 4 stroke engine in the range 80200 to 81299. It will more than likely have a long bodied "PulseJet" carburettor with a long pickup from the fuel tank and a short one from the fuel reservoir inside the tank. Look for airleaks and a punctured diaphragm if engine does not work after a thorough clean of the carburettor. Fine adjustment is needed to the wire from the air vane governor (insde the starter cover) and the choke linkage. It usually has to be bent in a slight arc away from the carb to shorten it enough to get the choke working properly.

Good Luck.

well I would go on-line and search for briggs and stratton engine identifiers you might have to search for awhile , but that's how I identified my kohler 14 horse engine in my lawnmower that someone removed/ painted over the tags on . also look at the base of the engine carefully sometimes they stamp a id # into the casting
