oil in expansion tank but no water on dipstick could it be oil cooler

I have the same fault i ve repaced the oil cooler and its looking like its not cured it now it seems to over heat and the expansion tank does not pressurise and the water does not get hot in the header tanlk either

Yes this is your oil cooler.

More likely to be the cylinder head gasket I'm afraid - especially if you have run out of coolant at sometime.
