how can i open the chuck?

the chuck will not release the drill bit
the drill is a dewalt dc757 with a 13mm chuck

Hit the side of the chuck a glancing blow in the normal release direction with a small hammer.... do it gently but deliberately, a squirt of wd 40 or similar into the chuck may help
