How can I fix a Mira Shower head holder?

The shower head holder of my Mira shower which slides is broken. Where can I buy a spare and how can I fix it ? I've never fixed a shower myself.

Your answers will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Rajeev

So did I find this useful, even more years later. Many thanks Kibby!

Well I don't know if Rajeev found your answer helpful ( or whether you will ever see this) but I certainly did, looking six years later! Thank you.

Just remenbered the staight vertical cylindrical bar attaches to the end clamping shells by gently pushing bar in and twisting 90 degrees (or similar method) to lock in place if I remember right.
This procedure might apply to 1 or both ends... I'm not sure now.

Just bear it in mind when removing / re-assembling

Hope this helps as you can wait for ages for replies on this forum (SHAME its not used more )!!

FINALLY...
Order an extra one if you intend keeping your shower (and it is the same design as mine) as you eliminate the risk of obsolesence forcing you to fit an alternative make which might spoil the looks of your shower. Mine is getting on in years and approaching the 10 years availability or more.
In general Mira showers are generally long lived and worth protecting your initial investment. (I don't work for them, but they do still supply good old fashioned service). They will also attend in person at reasonable rates if the need should arise.

Buy the way they know the white and grey type pistol holder is defective in design (the grey 'C' shape ring holding the shower head cracks. I had 2 of them crack and they supplied 1 free. It might be worth mentioning you think the quality is suspect to hopefully get some goodwill gesture. If you ask nicely who knows!!

By the way their website is www.mirashowers.com

To get at covered screws to release vertical bar on my shower
a small flat screwdriver and a gentle twist at base of clam shell worked .. yours might be different.. if you try it first and break any think you can order the parts at same time as holder or BETTER still ring Mira first and ask for advice on removing. They are or were very helpful.

Contact MIRA direct for spares. (Were called Mira Caradon now
Kohler or similar sounding name. A google search on Mira will find their contact details (STILL IN cheltenham I think).
To repair remove cover to bottom or top fixings of the vertical slider bar to reveal screws and remove either end from wall to allow holder to be slid off bar.
Replace with new and re-attach. Mira will supply (mine, pistol grip type cost £13) most spares for in excess of 10yrs.
