You can't get McKellar batts anymore,I have tried EVERYWHERE!!
(since the demise of Focus) as said by Roger if u don't use them,
Or charge up maybe once a month, they will DIE!
Best get a Dewalt drill from Screw fix (u can get up to THREE BATTS!!) in a package deal!!
Good Hunting!

hello, have cured my faulty battery charger, the 2 positive connections where the drill and charger connect were green so cleaned with emery paper and have put energy into the batteries

engineman, May 2009
sorry to know you may have to get fresh, Roger as regards mine I found when I waggled the charger lead both the red and green lights came on so test your lead. May try to wedge mine in the charge position and see what happens

My McKeller drill was on special offer at FOCUS who now say it was a one off and they cannot help with my needs - John is right, I might just have to buy a new set this time with spare battery; keep both charged up will be the written into the house rules!

Thanks John and Roger for your replies I have heard that these batteries cannot be overcharged so the charger may be faulty and not cut off. they were left flat for quite a while so that could be the answer. As regards to your problem Roger which store did you originally get your McKellar drill from, see if they sell batteries there or can either tell you where to get them, or have compatible batteries that fit, hope this works. My spare came with the drill in the case.

Sorry I do not have your answer but I want to know where I can buy a replacement 18V rechargeable battery for my McKeller drill - you mention a spare which is what I want and maybe you now have to buy another one too. Mine was on the torch and left somewhere on holiday.
If you can answer me, many thanks.........

The cheaper batteries (ni cad) don't last for ever and there demise is quickened if they are left flat for any length of time. I assume your charger is working though! You'll find that replacement batteries cost as much as a new drill......
