SOAP DESPENCER ON MY FRONT LOAD FRIGADARE WASHING MACHINE MODEL FWT449GF?

THE SOAP IS'NT GOING INTO THE DRUM WHEN THE WASH IS STARTED.
DAN ROBINSON, January 2006
What have you tried as far as diagnosis goes? So the water goes into the washer but is not flushing the soap? Is the flow of water look normal or slow? Does the soap stay in the dispenser at the end of the cycle?

Mine is a 445 (older model) but I assume the design is same/similar: There is a small clip at the back left on the dispenser that you can press down (gently) to remove it. Just above where the soap would go, you may notice a rectangular plate, facing down, with several small holes around its edges: this is where the water comes from. Check with a flashlight that the holes don't look plugged. You could turn on the washer for a second to make sure the water is flowing thru here (and would drop on the dispenser, thus flushing the soap). Be careful: some water may come thru where the dispenser was. If you're not getting any water or a healthy flow, then you have to follow the water flow. If this is fine, I dont see how the soap would not get flushed into the washer, or if it is, something is clogging the path (which you should also see when youve removed the dispenser), which you might examine by inserting a flexible "probe".

Hope this helps, with the usual caveats in DYI world.
