dyson dc07 keeps turning off?

my green dc07 dyson with brush control keeps turning off on me after 5 minutes now its suitable for people that can vacuum fast any ideas? it served us well for 7 years.

Thank you John! Blowing out the canister holes with can of air did the trick. Was getting very frustrated after cleaning all the filters and machine was still shutting down. Thank you again!

Yep I agree, the sponge filter needs cleaning. Look for three filters under the plastic clear bin housing. There should be some instructions on how to remove them down there too.

The problem is with the air vents getting clogged in the canister. I had the same problem. I took the clear pastic canister cover off and blew out all the air holes with a can of air blast and it has worked fine since. I repeat the process every so often just to maintain it.

Sounds like the motor is overheating and this causes the overheating protection to stop the machine from working.

The motor is possibly clogged up with dirt - and adequate ventilation of the motor is prevented - so overheating occurs relatively quickly.

Solution will be to clean/change the machine filters and some how declog the motor or change it completely.

Yep the motor overheat sensor is getting too hot. Make sure you clean or preferably replace the filter thats under a plastic housing below where the dust drum sits.
