sometimes cable becomes detached from clutch arm -if so,refit it and secure it with a cable tie,[there is a small return spring on pedal that is supposed to keep slight pressure on it to stop this happening].

Its either the cable itself or more likely the self adjuster mechanism at the top of the clutch pedal itself has failed.
