My washing machine won't spin. It fills with water ready for me to put the softner in, but water just sits in the drum and doesn't drain or spin. Will drain away when i press the drain button but still doesn't spin. when i first put the machine on it did spin, i just noticed it didn't when went to put the softner in. Help!

ive hd the same problem get somebody competent to check the brushes on the motor sound like they have worn down and not making a contact
