I have a Hotpoint FDW60 Aquarius (Grey colour) dishwasher and when I switch it on and try to press Programme Select to choose "Normal" the dishwasher starts instead of changing the programme? The lights above the programmes do not light.

If I leave the wash to continue after pressing Programme Select it looks like it does an Intensive Wash.

Does anyone have any idea why the Programme Select is now starting the washer instead of changing programme?

I have tried leaving it switched off completely, on but off at the mains, all overnight etc but no joy.
