My bush sd freesat box was loading a channel upgrade and said do not switch off. Due to a lengthy power failure it did. Now there is no standby light but no response and just gives off a blank screen as if it was not plugged in. Have checked lead connections and plug fuse but still nothing. Why.

The only way would be to send it to bush (ring them first) and they will fix it ;)

If it lost power during a firmware upgrade it is toast.

I can only suggest that you call Bush www.albaplc.com and ask them if they can help.
