Light went bang and now won't work?
In the living room we have one of those light fittings that has 5 lights. A couple of nights back, whilst sitting watching tv, there was a bang, a flash, and the light went out. It didn't trip the fuse because every other light in the house still works, it's only the living room light which won't work. At first I thought it was just one of the bulbs that had gone but replacing them made no difference.
It's a Virgo 5 light semi flush from B&Q and it was only put up a few months ago. I know how to replace the wire in a fuse but that's the extent of my knowledge, I wouldn't have a clue with installing a light fitting, so when it was installed it was a handyman out the local paper who did it. There was a mix of 60w and 40w bulbs in as when a bulb goes I just replace it with whatever is available at the time, but that shouldn't be a problem as the the light states maximum bulb size 60w.
Does anyone know what the problem might be? It's awful being in darkness at night but I can't really afford to get someone out to look at it just now.
