how can I fix my camping gas cooker?

this is a 3 burner camping cooker. All 3 burners light but the gas flame is too big and any pots used are black with soot. I have tried different regulators but it makes no difference

The usual problem is rust in the burner ring, just under the flame. a good way to test this is to put a feeler gauge ( ie for doing the tappet clearance on your car- nearly everyones got them)down the circle where the gas comes out and shake or tap out any rust. The problem is caused by insufficient aeration and if this doesnt work, have a look to ensure there are no obstructions to the air inlets near the jet- which is usually near the on/off taps
