I own a casion phonemate TA117. The unit will not respond to any buttons being pushed. When you take out the transformer and plug it back in - the message light blinks and if you push any button the light becomes steady - but you cannot record a message, or anything. The only button that seems to respond is the on/off button - other than that - nothing

Could the problem be the transformer or the unit itself?
